Pentagon Basement Renovation
The Clark Construction Group
Description: Interior structural demolition and hazardous material abatement in excess of 200,000 square feet. Work included extensive structural concrete sawing and removal, elevator demolition, MEP, and architectural demolition adjacent to occupied and classified areas inside Pentagon. Abatement process involved sandblasting of lead-based paint covered columns and asbestos removal throughout entirety of renovation area. Required to staff with four crews working two shifts.

The John A. Wilson Building

Description: Interior demolition and hazardous material abatement of historic structure in excess of 400,000 square feet. Work included extensive structural demolition, excavation of entire basement to provide lower slab elevation, removal of flooring, sub flooring, sleepers and concrete fill, multiple duct penetrations through masonry and concrete walls up to two feet thick, removal of all existing windows and removal of elevators.
ACECO's Contract Value: $1,700,000.00


Main Treasury Renovation
Turner-Grunley Joint Venture
Description: Complete renovation of historic landmark including structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and elevator demolition in occupied building. Includes multi-phased work with multiple crews. Project requires on-site Quality Control Manager.

Omni Shoreham Renovation
The Clark Construction Group
Description: Multi-phase selective structural, interior, and MEP demolition of occupied hotel with more than of 600 rooms and including more than 200,000 square feet of public areas. Work included demolition, and excavation for site work including removal of pools and terraces. Asbestos abatement performed throughout hotel.
ACECO's Contract Value: $2,400,000.00


Kennedy Center Concert Hall Renovations

Description: Selective structural, interior, and MEP demolition including removal of cantilevered concrete balconies above finishes to remain. Saw cutting and salvage of stage flooring. Hazardous material abatement performed throughout work area. Special work hours were required to enable Kennedy Center to remain open and occupied. Double shifts maintained for duration of project.

Mazza Gallarie Renovation
James G. Davis Construction Corporation
Description: Structural demolition of more than 6,000,000 pounds of reinforced concrete structural slab, columns and beams from third floor roof of occupied shopping mall. Demolition of heating and cooling system, total interior architectural strip-out, removal of escalators, elevators and stairs. Removal of stone façade to include asbestos underlayment. Excavation and removal of 250 cubic yards of bedrock and contaminated soil from below parking garage slab during normal mall operations.
